
Duron Lewis was born in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. His father was a great inspiration and influence to Duron.
Duron began sketching and painting at the age of 10 years old, he moved to Chicago, Illinois when he was 16. He worked at the Chicago History Museum in 1985 building exhibits of Frank Lloyd Wright ‘s 1800 period works. It was at the museum where his medium of wooden sculpting African guitars were created. After 14 years, Duron moved to Oakland, California where he continued his art exhibits in downtown, and in several art galleries throughout the Oakland area. Duron’s art has been sold to private collectors in many states such as Alabama, Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, and Oklahoma.
Duron’s latest creation is “Fire Art”, this unique technique has been a self-taught method. The fire art process is intense, and requires several steps in order to achieve the image on canvas, or paper. Duron is a creator in numerous mediums such as acrylics, watercolors, oils, pastels, pencil, wood, and fire art. He has painted murals for several states in the U.S. Duron's mural talents also come in to play in his art repertoire. Duron is gaining national recognition for his fire art creation. In June of 2015, was interviewed by News Channel 4 in Enid, Oklahoma while he demonstrated his fire art creations. Duron has exhibited at Laney's Cupcakes in downtown Enid, and created a mural for the City of Enid as well, the mural is now located at the Enid Public Library.
Duron hosted 75 pieces of diversified medium art exhibition fundraiser on October 19, 2013 for St. Jude Children Research. Creative Arts Enid featured him on November. 14, 2014, for the “Feeding The Arts” fundraiser in order to fund the art curriculum in the public schools of Enid, Oklahoma. Duron has been featured at multiple functions in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2015.
